Job summary

The Fresh Market in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Network Engineer II to design, implement, and manage our store, corporate, and WAN network infrastructure. You will work with Cisco switches/routers, firewalls, SD‑WAN, VPNs, and cloud connectivity to ensure high availability and secure operations across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer or similar.
• Hands‑on with Cisco switches (Catalyst, Nexus) and routers (ASR).
• Strong knowledge of network/routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with LAN/WAN architectures, VPNs, and network security best practices.
• Experience configuring Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls; SD‑WAN familiarity.
• Able to troubleshoot with Wireshark, packet captures, and CLI tools.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills; able to handle high‑pressure incidents.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Cisco network infrastructure (routers, switches, wireless).
• Implement and manage WAN, LAN, VLAN, WLAN, and VPN connectivity.
• Configure and maintain Cisco Meraki and Fortinet SD‑WAN, Palo Alto firewalls.
• Manage network security controls and incident response in partnership with EIS.
• Troubleshoot network outages and performance; monitor and optimize availability.
• Create/update network documentation and participate in on‑call rotation.
