Job summary

The University of Alabama is seeking a Network Engineer II to support the enterprise-wide mission-critical university networks. You will perform network engineering, handle low- to moderate-complexity tasks, and assist with campus and WAN design under supervision.

You may guide entry-level engineers. Minimum qualifications include a relevant degree with experience; preferred CCNA and hands-on Cisco experience across Nexus, Catalyst, APs, and IPAM tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of network engineering experience.
• OR associate's degree and four (4) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of network engineering.
• OR high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of network engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform low- to moderate-complexity operational network management and maintenance.
• Participate in network problem identification, analysis, and resolution for low- to moderate-complexity problems.
• Assist with strategy, planning, and design of the campus and wide-area networks.
• May provide guidance and training to entry-level network engineers.
