Job summary

Vertech in Phoenix, AZ seeks an entry-level Network Engineer I to design, implement, and configure networks for clients and internal systems. The role covers Cisco switches, routers, access points, and network security with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.

You will monitor, troubleshoot outages, document configurations, and collaborate with security teams. You will join a collaborative team with a hybrid work model, growth opportunities, and a competitive compensation

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience implementing secure network infrastructure.
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certification or equivalent experience.
• Four-year degree in CIS, MIS, or similar, or 5 years industrial networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and configuring communication networks for our organization and clients.
• Install, set up and configure Cisco switches, routers, access points and other devices.
• Design and implementation of network security equipment such as firewalls, rule sets, and ACLs.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and outages in wired and wireless TCP/IP networks.
• Identify and recommend mitigation strategies for network threats and risks.

What You Will Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and configuring communication networks for our organization and for our clients.


• Install, setup and configure complex network environments including Cisco switches, routers, access points and other devices vital to business and industrial operations


• Design and implementation of network security equipment such as firewalls, rule sets, and ACL’s.


• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and outages in a wired (802.3) and wireless (802.11) TCP/IP network.


• Identify and recommend mitigation strategies for network threats and risks.

What You Need for this Position

• At least 1 years’ experience in implementing secure network infrastructure both from the ground up and incorporating into existing systems.


• CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification, or equivalent experience supporting Cisco or equivalent managed switches, routers, and firewalls.


• Four-year degree in CIS, MIS, or similar, or 5 years of successful Industrial networking experience.
