Job summary

Vertech is seeking a Network Engineer I - Summer (Entry Level) in Phoenix, AZ with hybrid work options. You will design and implement networks for our clients and our internal systems, focusing on Cisco devices and security architecture.

The role requires a basic to intermediate level of networking experience, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent, and a four-year CIS/MIS degree or substantial industrial networking background. We offer competitive pay and benefits as part of the Vertech team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in implementing secure network infrastructure.
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certification or equivalent experience with Cisco equipment.
• Four-year degree in CIS, MIS, or similar, or 5 years of industrial networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and configuring communication networks for the organization and clients.
• Install, setup and configure complex network environments including Cisco switches, routers, access points and other devices.
• Design and implementation of network security equipment such as firewalls, rule sets, and ACLs.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and outages in wired and wireless TCP/IP networks.
• Identify and mitigate network threats and risks.

What You Will Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and configuring communication networks for our organization and for our clients.
• Install, setup and configure complex network environments including Cisco switches, routers, access points and other devices vital to business and industrial operations
• Design and implementation of network security equipment such as firewalls, rule sets, and ACL’s.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and outages in a wired (802.3) and wireless (802.11) TCP/IP network.
• Identify and recommend mitigation strategies for network threats and risks.

What You Need for this Position

• At least 1 years’ experience in implementing secure network infrastructure both from the ground up and incorporating into existing systems.
• CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification, or equivalent experience supporting Cisco or equivalent managed switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Four-year degree in CIS, MIS, or similar, or 5 years of successful Industrial networking experience.
