Job summary

Heritage Technology Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer Level I to deliver quality IT services to clients in the Chicago area. You will support workstations, servers, and networks, communicate with clients, and help maximize their technology investments.

The role requires at least 2 years of Windows support, an MCP, and working knowledge of networking and Active Directory. You will configure IP settings, assist in project implementations, and help sales by offering technical recommendations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of full-time Windows PC support in a business network.
• Must have at least one MCP certification (Microsoft).
• Working knowledge of networking, Active Directory hierarchy and structure.
• Able to list the key functions of a firewall, router, switch and a hub and explain the differences.
• Able to manually configure a workstation’s IP address, mask and gateway.
• Knowledge of viruses, Trojans, adware and spyware, and how to explain differences.
• Able to configure various mail clients (Outlook, Outlook Express).

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support for workstations, servers and networks for clients.
• Document services delivered for billing and future reference.
• Assist sales staff with technical recommendations to win new clients.
• Participate in project implementations and service offerings.
• Research hardware/software pricing and provide purchase recommendations.
• Develop internal processes and training plans and keep documentation current.
