Job summary

Related Companies is seeking a Network Engineer I for the Hudson Yards Infrastructure & Operations team. You will install, troubleshoot, and operate the campus-wide Cisco network, including wired/wireless infrastructure and building systems.

Reporting to the IT Director at Hudson Yards, you’ll collaborate with senior engineers, operations teams, vendors, and integrators to keep critical services reliable and secure while supporting upgrades and future initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a Cisco environment.
• Knowledge of switching, routing, and wireless technologies (Cisco), including 9K, 7K, and 5K fabrics.
• Working knowledge of MPLS, VRF, VPC, etc.
• Knowledge of VoIP/QoS design and deployment.
• Knowledge of Layer 1 infrastructure (fiber, copper).
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 infrastructure and best practices.
• Knowledge of firewall configurations, ACLs, and network cybersecurity basics.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Motivated to learn.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Cisco enterprise network equipment (switches, routers, wireless).
• Monitor availability, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot connectivity, routing, switching, and wireless issues.
• Support L1–L3 infrastructure: fiber, copper, VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and spanning tree.
• Support enterprise wireless (Cisco/Meraki) and building systems connectivity (HVAC, access control, cameras, life safety, IoT).
• Assist with firewall configurations, ACLs, segmentation, and VPNs with Cybersecurity.
• Maintain network diagrams, documentation, inventories, and configuration records.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects with senior engineers, vendors, and integrators.
• Communicate incidents and planned maintenance clearly to stakeholders.
