Job summary

Bernard Nickels & Associates is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in Roseland, NJ. The role blends network engineering, systems administration, and infrastructure support, with hands-on work across switches, firewalls, and security systems.

You will help maintain the organization’s technology environment, support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and identity management, and provide escalating technical support to end users while collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT support, systems administration, or network engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows environments and Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Experience with networking hardware and security technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Fortinet).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python).
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and security devices.
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Administer Active Directory and Entra ID; manage users and group policies.
• Support Microsoft 365 services and related collaboration tools.
• Manage endpoint devices, patch deployment, and print servers.
• Maintain IT documentation and respond to tickets within SLAs.
• Coordinate with vendors for escalations and upgrades.
• Travel to additional locations for onsite support as needed.
