Job summary

Emerald Resource Group seeks a Network Engineer to own escalations and mentor junior engineers within a Service Delivery environment. You will lead infrastructure projects, solve complex problems, and design Windows Server-based solutions across diverse client networks.

The role requires elite troubleshooting, SMB experience, and hands-on Hyper-V/VMware and Microsoft 365 expertise, with MSP familiarity and relevant vendor certification is a plus. This is an on-site position in the US.

Job description

We are seeking a Network Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical problems and serving as the "go-to" expert for high-level challenges. This role is designed for a highly capable infrastructure engineer with a mastery of Windows Server environments who is equally comfortable navigating networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies.

As a senior technical resource within our Service Delivery team, you will lead escalations, spearhead infrastructure projects, and mentor junior engineers. This position requires elite troubleshooting skills, deep ownership of technical hurdles, and the tenacity to see complex issues through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Escalation

• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex systems and network issues.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across server, network, and virtualization environments.
• Take full ownership of critical issues to ensure complete resolution.
• Design, implement, and support Windows Server environments across diverse client networks.
• Manage virtualization platforms, including Hyper-V and VMware.
• Support Microsoft 365 cloud services and integrations.

Networking & Connectivity

• Support firewall and switching platforms such as SonicWall, Cisco Meraki, and Ubiquiti.
• Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, VPN, and connectivity hurdles.

Technical Experience

Required:

• Expert-level Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience supporting SMB network environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Hyper-V and VMware virtualization.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

Preferred:

• Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
• Proficiency with ConnectWise and DattoRMM.
• Familiarity with Azure infrastructure.
• Experience supporting SonicWall, Cisco Meraki, or Ubiquiti networking.

Certifications (Valued but not required):

• Microsoft, Cisco, or SonicWall certifications (Equivalent real-world experience is weighted equally).
