Job summary

HCLTech in Melbourne, FL is hiring fresh graduates/early-career engineers to build a career in Enterprise Networking and Next-Generation Network Technologies. You will support, learn, and gradually contribute to routing & switching, SD-WAN, data center networks, and virtual networking under guidance of senior engineers.

Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated fresh graduates / early‑career engineers who are interested in building a career in Enterprise Networking and Next‑Generation Network Technologies. The role focuses on supporting, learning, and gradually contributing to modern network environments including Routing & Switching, SD‑WAN, Data Center Networks, and Virtual Networking under the guidance of senior engineers.

Technical Key Skills (Entry‑Level Expectations)

Primary Skills

• Strong fundamentals in Networking concepts:
• TCP/IP, OSI Model
• Routing & Switching basics
• VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS
• Basic understanding or exposure to SD‑WAN concepts.
• Awareness of Data Center Networking (ACI / NSX at a conceptual level).
• Basic Wireless networking knowledge.

Secondary / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to any of the following through labs, training, or projects:
• VMware NSX‑T (basic understanding)
• SD‑WAN (Viptela / Velocloud / Silverpeak – awareness level)
• F5 (LTM/GTM – conceptual exposure)
• Cloud networking fundamentals (Azure / AWS)
• Basic scripting exposure (Python / PowerShell / Bash is a plus).
• Willingness to learn Network Automation and NetOps tools.

Technology Exposure (Any 1–2 is Sufficient for Freshers)

• Cisco Routing & Switching
• Cisco ACI or VMware NSX (introductory level)
• Wireless Networking
• Cloud Networking fundamentals (Azure / AWS – basic)

Principal Accountabilities

• Support day-to-day network operations under supervision as part of a larger delivery team.
• Perform initial troubleshooting and diagnostics of network-related incidents and escalates appropriately.
• Follow defined SOPs, runbooks, and operational processes.
• Assist senior engineers in:
• Network changes
• Migration and transformation activities
• Network documentation and diagrams
• Work closely with internal teams to understand recurring issues and participate in problem analysis.
• Maintain accurate documentation and update knowledge bases.
• Participate in on-the-job training, mentoring, and technical upskilling programs.
• Develop strong understanding of customer environments and service expectations.

Key Business Challenges (Learning & Support Role)

• Assist in reducing user downtime through quick identification and escalation of issues.
• Participate in analysis of recurring issues and contribute to long-term improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience (Freshers welcome).
• Networking certification such as CCNA (preferred) or willingness to pursue certifications.
• Internship, academic projects, or lab exposure in networking is a plus.

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies.
