Job summary

Cypher Analytics is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, sustain, and modernize complex networks supporting OCONUS Naval operations. The engineer translates mission requirements into secure, scalable network solutions across architecture, configuration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

Active DoW Secret clearance is required; TS/SCI preferred. 5–7 years in Cisco routing/switching, CCNA, and Security+; experience with SDN, firewalls, VPNs, and data reporting is expected.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience designing, configuring, deploying, testing, and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching for DoW programs.
• Must meet DoW Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) qualifications; CompTIA Security+ CE certification required.
• CCNA is required; CCNP or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with network automation, next-gen firewalls, VPNs, Layer 2/3 protocols, SDN, and Catalyst Center.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Project, PowerPoint) with advanced MS Excel for data-driven reporting.
• Willingness to travel OCONUS to support fleet deployments.

Responsibilities

• Network Design & Architecture: Develop network topologies, templates, and IP addressing plans meeting Navy system requirements.
• Engineering & Implementation: Lead integration, configuration, testing, deployment, securing, and troubleshooting of wired/wireless LAN/WAN architectures including firewalls and VPNs.
• Lifecycle Support: Plan end-of-life replacements and technology refreshes; evaluate emerging tech; perform AoA for legacy systems.
• Testing & Documentation: Author test plans, design docs, SOPs, and engineering reports.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Brief production teams, systems engineers, program managers, and senior military stakeholders.
• Automation & Software-Defined Networking: Deploy SDN (SD-WAN, SD-Access) and automation tools to streamline provisioning and fleet deployments.
• Travel: Ability to travel OCONUS for fleet installations and deployments.
