Job summary

Independence First seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and monitor a multi-service network supporting wireless, data, and voice systems. You will create stable images for network computers, apply security patches, and troubleshoot end-user hardware/software in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, collaboration with IT and facilities sections, and a Monday–Friday 8 am–4:30 pm schedule with occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in computer science or related field.
• 2 years equivalent work experience or more.
• Advanced knowledge of Fortinet products.
• Advanced knowledge of VMware and/or Proxmox.
• Advanced knowledge of Intune.
• Advanced knowledge of Mitel phone systems, administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws.
• Strong networking and PC operating systems expertise.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage networking infrastructure for performance and security.
• Maintain servers, email, device management, backups, and OS/software.
• Patch all hardware and software; ensure up-to-date systems.
• Assist in IT asset management and user account administration.
• Interact with vendors and contractors as needed.
• Provide network performance reports and analyses.
• Conduct server and security audits and coordinate upgrades.
• Ensure reliable operation of office IT equipment.
