U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is seeking a Network Engineer to support its enterprise network. You will assist with routing and switching, troubleshoot issues, and maintain thorough documentation to ensure stability, performance, and security across the network.

The role emphasizes foundational networking skills, collaboration with infrastructure teams, and involvement in on‑call and off‑hour tasks to support critical systems.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Proven experience with Cisco networking technologies with CCNA certification.
• Three years of experience in network support, administration, or related IT functions.
• Foundational knowledge of enterprise networking platforms (Cisco/Juniper).
• Strong interest in routing and switching technologies.
• Basic understanding of firewall concepts and administration.
• Knowledge of VLANs and network segmentation strategies.
• Familiarity with VPNs, IPsec, 802.1x and RADIUS.
• Exposure to F5 load balancers and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.
• Ability to learn emerging technologies quickly and work with diverse teams.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in supporting network infrastructure, including break/fix tasks and installations.
• Troubleshoot basic network hardware and software issues under senior guidance.
• Monitor network activity and escalate issues as needed.
• Support network uptime and health monitoring to ensure critical systems availability.
• Assist with IOS patch management tasks as directed.
• Help maintain network availability in line with SLAs.
• Participate in capacity and performance assessments for growth needs.
• Provide input on network design improvements for routing and switching.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers during projects.
• Create and maintain accurate network documentation per SOPs.
• Research updates to improve network performance and compatibility.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises and planning.
• Provide limited support for F5 tasks under supervision.
• Assist with Wi‑Fi troubleshooting and basic wireless configuration.
• Participate in on‑call support and some weekend maintenance.
