Job summary

Request Technology, LLC is seeking a Network Engineer with strong Cisco CheckPoint firewall NGNG experience for a Chicago-based hybrid role. You will support design, configuration, and operations across on-premises and cloud environments, including ACI management and AWS connectivity.

The role requires a solid background in routing, switching, and firewall administration, with scripting experience and a track record of coordinating complex installations with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• 5+ years of IT systems installation, operations, and cloud IaaS management.
• Strong foundation in BGP, OSPF, ISIS with WAN/LAN/IP/VPN/IPAM/DNS expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support, administer, and oversee network design, configuration, and analysis.
• Configure routing/switching and manage Cisco FTD firewall administration.

Network Engineering with Checkpoint Firewall and/or NG next Generation

Location: Chicago - on site 3 days a week

Need heavy networking, medium ACI, AWS would be a plus

The key to this role is that you have solid Cisco CheckPoint firewall experience - NG next generation

LOCATION: CHICAGO, IL

Hybrid 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

This role is responsible for supporting, administering, and overseeing network support, design, and analysis of new and existing architectures — including routing/switching configuration, Cisco FTD firewall administration, Cisco ACI management, and network-related business continuity planning. The role also involves developing systems specifications, technical implementation plans, and coordinating complex installation projects with clients and vendors, while working with a team on network and security architecture design for both on-premise and Cloud environments

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

• Strong foundation in Network protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) and concepts (WAN/LAN/IP/VPN/IPAM/DNS), with the ability to apply this knowledge to expand and support existing network infrastructure
• Advanced experience with Cisco network products, including lifecycle management (deployment, upgrades, and ongoing support) of IOS, NX-OS, XR, and FTD platforms
• Strong network troubleshooting skills to support day-to-day operations, including packet capture, analysis, and review.
• Experience supporting cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure) within a hybrid infrastructure environment
• Scripting experience
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in IT systems installation, operations, administration, and maintenance of virtualized servers / cloud systems
