Job summary

SpaceX in Texas seeks an IT Network Administrator to support routing, switching, VoIP and WiFi across our campus. You will document work in tickets and coordinate outages with stakeholders for software updates and hardware refreshes.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3+ years in IT network administration, and hands-on experience with Cisco/Catalyst and Arista switches, WLAN controllers, DNS/DHCP, and network monitoring tools. CCNA/CCNP certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency certificate is required.
3+ years of experience in IT network administration.
Understanding of the OSI model and network standards.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Arista data center switches.
Experience with Cisco WLAN controllers or other wireless technologies.
Experience with WDM and Fiber Optics.
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDP.
Ability to enable switch port security features and monitor networks.
Experience with network monitoring tools and documentation.
Linux/Windows system administration skills.
CCNA or CCNP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Procure, configure, and install network hardware including switches and access points.
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
Plan outage windows with stakeholders for updates and maintenance.
Configure NAC and security features.
Gather requirements and create implementation plans with vendors and contractors.
Build and maintain campus IDF rooms per network standards.
Monitor network health with in-house and third-party tools.
Maintain network documentation and inventory.
