Job summary

SpaceX in California seeks an IT Network Engineer to support routing, switching, VoIP and WiFi across the campus network supporting rocket, spacecraft and satellite programs.

The role emphasizes documentation, outage coordination, wireless surveys and NAC/security configurations in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. Degree plus experience required; CCNA/CCNP preferred; overtime may be requested to meet launch timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or STEM with 3+ years of network engineering experience; or 5+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Understanding of the OSI model and network standards.
• CCNA or CCNP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure, configure and install network hardware including switches, access points, UPS and PDUs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
• Plan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders for updates and maintenance.
• Perform wireless surveys to determine coverage gaps and solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAC and other security features.
• Gather network requirements with customers/vendors and create implementation plans.
• Build and maintain IDF rooms across campus per network standards.
• Monitor network health with in-house and third-party tools.
• Maintain network documentation.
• Manage network hardware inventory.
