Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join our team at a customer site in McLean, VA. The role focuses on modernizing physical and cloud networks, ensuring availability, performance, security compliance, and proactive operations while guiding the migration to the cloud.

This hands-on position requires 8+ years in network/transport, 4+ years in cloud networking, and experience with Cisco/Juniper devices.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance with a polygraph.
• 8+ years of network/transport experience.
• 4+ years of cloud network design and maintenance.
• Experience configuring Cisco, Juniper switches/routers/firewalls.
• Experience with Linux networking (CentOS/Red Hat/Amazon Linux).

Responsibilities

• Focus on Network Engineering and operation of existing infrastructure.
• Coordinate maintenance, monitoring and upgrades across platforms (physical and cloud).

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is looking for aCloud Network Engineerto join our team at acustomer site in McLean, VA to support a mission-critical geospatial data visualization application. The Network Engineer willbe responsible for maintaining and modernizing the current physical and cloud networks and helping to guide the system migration to the cloud. Yourfocus will be on system availability, performance, security compliance, and proactive operations, usingautomation, monitoring, and disciplined operational practices to keep systems reliable and compliant. This is ahands-on role for an experienced Network Engineer who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and take on a challenge to improve and guide network design changes.

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Focus will be on Network Engineering, new project requirements, and operation and sustainment of existing infrastructure.
• Coordination of system maintenance, monitoring and upgrade of the current environment encompassing multiple platforms and technologies both physical and cloud based.
• Assist with research and implementation system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network media and components.
• Evaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management software.
• Develop and maintain a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies and full cloud migration.
• Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions forcustomer approval before implementation.
• Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives.
• Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the network.
• Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices
• Follows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies.
• Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Active security clearance with a polygraph.
• 8+ years related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
• 4+ years’ experience with cloud network technologies, design and maintenance
• Experience with configuring and maintaining Cisco Juniper, switches, routers, and firewalls
• Experience with configuring networking on Linux systems (Centos, Red Hat, Amazon Linux)
• Experience with network modernization both physical and cloud
• Experience with supportingIP services to connect to systems operating at different classifications (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, QOS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP, VTC, etc)
• Certifications: IAT II

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, CISCO CCNP, CCVP, CCNA or CCDP (or equivalent)
• CompTIA Security +
