Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Network Engineer to support a defense program focusing on command and control, battle management, communications, and ballistic missile defense operations. This on-site role is based in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Network Engineer will implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto), supporting secure, reliable communications for national defense objectives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies.
• Experience with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Active Security Clearance (Secret or higher) and IAT Level II certification.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) in multi-vendor environments.
• Monitor network performance, identify latency and packet loss issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Implement VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, WAN optimization, and TCP/IP architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network upgrades and deployments.
• Travel to remote sites to install networks and assist with troubleshooting, including after-hours as needed.

This position is ON-SITE in Colorado Springs, CO. The Network Engineer will support the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across complex LAN/WAN environments. Join a highly skilled team responsible for ensuring secure, reliable communications that support national defense objectives.

Responsibilities for the Network Engineer include:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto).
• Monitor network performance, identify connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues, and perform root cause analysis to resolve incidents.
• Implement and support networking technologies including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, WAN optimization, and TCP/IP network architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network upgrades, installations, infrastructure enhancements, and operational projects.
• Travel to remote sites to perform network installations, lead troubleshooting efforts, and provide status updates to program stakeholders, including support during evenings and weekends when required.

Required Qualifications for the Network Engineer include:

• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, network operations, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies.
• Experience with firewalls including Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto platforms.
• IAT Level II Certifications, CCNA or JNCIA.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation for the Network Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $110,000- $155,000 depending on experience
