Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations and oversee integration of newly acquired businesses. This hybrid role is based in Washington, D.C., combining on-site collaboration with remote work as needed.

You will design, maintain, and optimize LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN, and security while coordinating with MSPs, vendors, and internal teams. Travel up to 50% may be required as projects evolve.

• Experience with network migrations, acquisitions, or infrastructure integration projects.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and network security.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead network integration efforts for newly acquired organizations, evaluating existing infrastructure and developing migration plans.
• Design, maintain, and optimize LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN, and network security environments.
• Partner with managed service providers and technology vendors to support firewalls, intrusion prevention, and other network security technologies.
• Support connectivity between on-premises infrastructure, Active Directory, and cloud environments.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform root cause analysis to improve reliability and security.
• Maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams on enterprise technology initiatives.
• Support network roadmaps, capacity planning, and infrastructure improvement projects.

Network Engineer

This role will support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations while helping integrate newly acquired businesses and modernize existing environments. • Experience with VMware or Hyper-V and familiarity with hybrid cloud networking.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, project management, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

Compensation for the Network Engineer Includes:

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
