Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in networking.

• Experience managing Palo Alto Networks and Cisco Meraki firewalls a plus.
• Experience managing Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
• Experience and ability in managing Linux servers.

Responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day administration of the network infrastructure.
• Research, plan, design, and maintain network infrastructure.
• Manage documentation and inventories of networking equipment.
• Develop and implement network standards with IT teams.
• Work closely with IT Support and Infrastructure teams to develop and implement network and software standards, updates, maintenance, and patching.
• Design and configure base configuration templates for field networking equipment through centralized management platforms such Cisco/Meraki and UniFi cloud portals.
• Find innovative and cost‑effective IT infrastructure solutions to solve field office problems.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for unplanned outages.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours for scheduled maintenance windows.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

• Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation
• Able to self-manage a diverse and dynamic set of responsibilities, proactively solve problems and / or suggest viable solutions while advancing goals and objectives.
• Ability to relay technical information to non-technical individuals and the ability to interact with end users to determine or diagnose network and security issues.
• Strong working knowledge of server and desktop operating systems including Windows OS, Ubuntu Linux, and Mac OS.
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Knowledge of authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on, day‑to‑day administration of the network infrastructure, including reviewing logs, physical inspections, testing for vulnerabilities, solving security issues, and maintaining documentation.
• Work with the Infrastructure team to research, plan, design, implement, maintain, and upgrade local and wide area network infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, switches, access points, gateways, VPNs, DNS servers, DHCP servers, clustering solutions, and related hardware, software, services, and web protocols.
• Maintain inventories of all networking equipment, hardware support contracts and software licenses, including replacement schedules and disposal of equipment.
• Write, and update network documentation and network diagrams.
• Work closely with IT Support and Infrastructure teams to develop and implement network and software standards, updates, maintenance, and patching.
• Design and configure base configuration templates for field networking equipment through centralized management platforms such Cisco/Meraki and UniFi cloud portals.
• Find innovative and cost‑effective IT infrastructure solutions to solve field office problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• At least 4 years of experience or directly related training; or demonstrated mastery of subject matter.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure and managing VMWare networking.
• Experience managing network functions via Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, AD Certificate Services and Active Directory.
• Experience managing Palo Alto Networks and Cisco Meraki firewalls a plus.
• Experience managing Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
• Experience and ability in managing Linux servers.
• Ability to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.
