Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience with significant hands-on responsibility for network infrastructure.
• 3+ years of professional networking experience; Ubiquiti/UniFi experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-site environments and POS systems.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills and the ability to escalate appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced hands-on troubleshooting and support for network infrastructure, focusing on Ubiquiti/UniFi technologies.
• Configure, implement, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure supporting POS systems, ticketing systems, mobile devices, and other business-critical apps.
• Independently troubleshoot complex wired and wireless network issues, identify root causes, and determine resolution strategies.
• Serve as Level II escalation point and mentor Level I engineers with troubleshooting guidance.
• Monitor the environment for risks, performance issues, configuration gaps, and recurring problems; implement corrective actions.
• Perform advanced network diagnostics including VLAN troubleshooting, wireless/RF analysis, connectivity testing, and throughput optimization.
• Coordinate and delegate technical tasks during incidents, deployments, and projects for timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, network diagrams, configuration documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Test, validate, and document changes per change management processes.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during critical incidents.
• Travel to company locations as needed to support infrastructure and deployments.
• Pursue additional duties and technical projects as assigned.

The Network Engineer II is responsible for supporting reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations across multiple business locations. This Level II position provides advanced hands‑on support for network and systems infrastructure, including day‑to‑day operations, technical projects, and ongoing infrastructure improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a broad working knowledge of the Ubiquiti/UniFi networking environment, with practical experience in switching, wireless networking, routing, VLANs, and structured network troubleshooting. This role requires a high level of independence, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to identify root causes, resolve complex technical issues, and recognize when broader or systemic problems require escalation.

Beyond incident resolution, the Network Engineer II will help strengthen the organization’s overall IT operations by improving technical documentation, standard operating procedures, network diagrams, and repeatable support processes. The position will also serve as a technical resource for Level I engineers by providing guidance, mentoring, and assistance with escalated issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, hands‑on troubleshooting and support for network infrastructure, with a strong focus on Ubiquiti/UniFi technologies.


• Configure, implement, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure supporting POS systems, ticketing systems, mobile devices, and other business‑critical applications.


• Independently troubleshoot complex wired and wireless network issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate resolution strategies.


• Serve as a Level II escalation point and technical resource for Level I engineers, providing troubleshooting assistance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.


• Monitor the environment for potential risks, performance issues, configuration gaps, and recurring problems; recommend and implement corrective actions.


• Perform advanced network diagnostics, including VLAN troubleshooting, wireless/RF analysis, connectivity testing, and throughput optimization.


• Coordinate and delegate technical tasks during incidents, deployments, special events, and infrastructure projects to ensure timely resolution.


• Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, including SOPs, runbooks, network diagrams, configuration documentation, and troubleshooting procedures.


• Test, validate, and document network and system changes in accordance with established change management processes.


• Participate in an on‑call rotation and provide advanced support during critical incidents or service interruptions.


• Travel to company locations as needed to support infrastructure, deployments, troubleshooting, and other IT initiatives.


• Perform additional duties and technical projects as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of progressive IT experience with significant hands‑on responsibility for network infrastructure.


• 3+ years of professional networking experience; Ubiquiti/UniFi experience strongly preferred.


• 2+ years of experience supporting POS environments; experience with MICROS Simphony is preferred.


• Experience supporting highly available and/or multi‑site technology environments.


• Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring, cross‑functional collaboration, ownership of technical initiatives, or serving as an escalation resource.
