Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Level 2 Network Engineer for a 3-month contract-to-hire engagement in Miami, FL. The role is 100% onsite, with a rate of $50–$65/hour (W2) and a salary range of $115k–$135k plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; 5+ years related work experience.
• Must possess current certifications in networking.
• Certifications in Palo Alto, FortiGate, Citrix NetScaler and related security technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for network strategy, architecture, implementation and steady-state support.
• Produces network design policies addressing connectivity, capacity, interfacing, security, resilience, recovery, access, and remote access.
• Produces and maintains specifications, topologies, configuration and design documentation.
• Specifies user/system interfaces, including validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls.
• Assesses associated risks; specifies recovery routines and contingency procedures.
• Function as subject matter expert for at least one area of data and voice infrastructure.

100% Onsite – Miami, FL: Candidates must currently be located in the Miami, FL area and be able to commute to the office daily. This position is not open to out-of-town, out-of-state, or relocation candidates. No third-party vendors.

Location: Miami, FL - Coral Gables area / 100% onsite

3 Months Contract to Hire

Rate: $50 - $65/hr w2

Salary: $115k - $135k + Benefits

• Multiple data centers and 450+ office locations.
• Cisco Nexus 9000 (ACI leaf/spine & standalone), Nexus 7000 (VDC), and Nexus 5000 switches.
• Cisco ASR multigigabit routers. Advanced IP traffic engineering via OSPF, BGP & EIGRP routing.
• Cisco ASA (for NAC-enabled remote-access VPN), ISE, and AnyConnect VPN.
• Cisco Enterprise Wireless Controllers with 900+ wireless access points.
• Palo Alto Firewalls + Panorama, and FortiNet FortiGate Firewalls + FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer
• Site-to-Site VPN via FortiNet FortiGate SDWAN and Palo Alto FW.
• FortiNet FortiNAC.
• Vivai Solutions Observer Apex, GigaStor, OMS and Analyzer.
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Voice Mail, UCCX, ExpressWay and QoS.
• Cloud exchange peering with Amazon Web Services and Azure cloud computing platforms.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 5+ years related work experience (or any equivalent combination).
• Must possess current certifications in networking.
• Certifications in Palo Alto, FortiGate, Citrix NetScaler and related security technologies preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Traffic-engineering experience with BGP.
• Experience with AWS/Azure cloud services.
• Experience with Cisco Multi-Site ACI.
• Experience with Palo Alto FWs & Panorama and/or FortiNet FortiGate FWs & FortiManager /FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience with enterprise wireless technology.
• Must be very comfortable with technical elements of network security and design, to include IPSec VPN (S2S, RA, DMVPN & B2B) TCP/IP, firewalls, IPS/IDS, VoIP, load balancers, routers and switches.
• Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and UCCX a plus.
