Job summary

Pomeroy is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise network in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The role focuses on the implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN infrastructure, Cisco equipment, and carrier integrations.

The ideal candidate will work independently and with cross-functional teams, handle after-hours maintenance, and participate in on-call rotations while adhering to change control processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in large enterprise networks.
• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Experience with IS-IS, EIGRP, OSPF, Multicast, and QoS.
• Knowledge of LAN technologies including HSRP, STP, VLANs, and IP subnetting.
• Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and NX-OS.
• Experience with enterprise change management and peer review processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and network incident management skills.
• Ability to work independently and with technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, troubleshoot, and support large-scale enterprise LAN networks.
• Configure Cisco routers including ASR9K, ASR1K, ISR4K.
• Configure Cisco switches including Catalyst 9300, 6800, 2960, 3560, 3750, and Nexus 5K/7K/9K.
• Troubleshoot network incidents and monitor incident queues, including after-hours maintenance.
• Support LAN design, carrier network integration, VRFs, and logical overlay networks.
• Perform predictive Wi-Fi surveys and support wireless access points.
• Open, manage, and monitor vendor TAC cases as needed.
• Follow change control processes and network documentation requirements.
• Participate in technical meetings with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
• Provide timely communication regarding incidents, changes, outages, and project status.
• Support major network refreshes and network improvement initiatives.
• Work evenings, weekends, and overnight maintenance windows; participate in on-call rotation.
• Onsite in Lake Buena Vista, FL, 5 days per week is required.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise network environment in Lake Buena Vista, FL. This role will focus on the implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN infrastructure, Cisco networking equipment, logical overlay networks, VRFs, wireless technologies, and carrier integrations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on network professional who can work independently while collaborating with network engineers, vendors, customers, and technical teams. This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong troubleshooting, communication, and change management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, troubleshoot, and support large-scale enterprise LAN networks.
• Configure and support Cisco routers, including ASR9K, ASR1K, ISR4K, and related platforms.
• Configure and support Cisco switches, including Catalyst 9300, 6800, 2960, 3560, 3750, and Nexus 5K, 7K, and 9K.
• Troubleshoot network incidents and monitor incident queues, including after-hours maintenance activities.
• Support LAN design, Service Provider/Carrier network integration, Logical Overlay Networks, and VRFs.
• Perform predictive Wi-Fi surveys and support wireless access points.
• Open, manage, and monitor vendor TAC cases as needed.
• Follow established change control processes, configuration standards, and network documentation requirements.
• Participate in technical meetings and troubleshooting bridges with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
• Provide timely and accurate communication regarding incidents, changes, outages, and project status.
• Support major network refreshes, incident resolution, and network improvement initiatives.
• Work evenings, weekends, and overnight maintenance windows as required.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands‑on Network Engineering experience supporting, designing, implementing, and maintaining large enterprise networks.
• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies.
• Working knowledge of IS‑IS, EIGRP, OSPF, Multicast, and QoS.
• Strong understanding of LAN technologies, including HSRP, STP, VLANs, and IP subnetting.
• Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS‑XE, IOS‑XR, and NX‑OS.
• Knowledge of network cabling infrastructure and industry specifications.
• Experience working within formal enterprise change management and peer review processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and network incident management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IPv6 implementation.
• Experience with network automation, including Ansible and Python.
• CCNA or CCNP certification required.
• CCIE certification or passed CCIE written exam is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree or related technical degree preferred.
• Experience supporting large, complex enterprise network environments.
