Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Network Engineer for a long-term contract in Irving, TX, with hybrid work options. The role focuses on network refresh initiatives and provides hands-on experience with leading vendor platforms and large-scale enterprise networking.

Responsibilities include configuring and supporting Layer 2/3 networks, routing, switching, and supporting Cisco Nexus/Arista environments. A background in financial services is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Data Center solutions for large enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static) and implementing DDoS mitigation strategies and configuring ACLs in large enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of Network Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, military, or education.
• Experience configuring routing and switching on Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product lines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Network technology refresh initiatives with a focus on routing and switching.
• Support Cisco and Arista environments.
• Configure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
• Work with routers and switches (no hands-on firewall work required).
• Work focused heavily on infrastructure refresh initiatives.

Required Background

• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista.
• Financial services background preferred.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Data Center solutions for large enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static), specializing in implementing DDoS mitigation strategies and configuring ACLs in a large enterprise environment.
• 3+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, military experience, or education.
• 3+ years of experience configuring routing and switching on the latest platforms and solutions, including Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product line.

Desired Qualifications

• CCNA, CCNP/DP, or CCIE Datacenter certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering and/or 3+ years of networking experience.
• Demonstrated skill creating and/or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams.
• Experience working in a Product/Agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products.
• Experience and familiarity with change control processes using ServiceNow.
• Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio Professional.
• Experience collaborating with regulatory and audit teams.
• Experience with scripting using YAML, Python, Ansible, and GitHub preferred.
• Ability to make decisions quickly in a high-volume hosting environment.
• Ability to solve complex problems and analyze issues.
• Ability to coordinate, document, and drive flawless execution.
