Job summary

Convergenz is seeking a senior network engineer based in Irving, TX to design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure across corporate offices and operating company locations.

You will configure routers/switches/firewalls, manage DNS/DHCP/IPAM, support Zscaler platform, monitor performance, and drive incident resolution while collaborating with security providers and vendors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in multi-site enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSI, VLANs, NAT, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN and wireless networking.
• Experience with next-generation firewalls; Fortinet preferred.
• Hands-on with enterprise switching and wireless networking platforms.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN, network monitoring tools, and SIEM integrations.
• Understanding of network security principles, Zero Trust, least-privilege access.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure across offices and locations.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless APs, including VLANs, routing, NAT, and firewall policies.
• Administer DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and site-to-site VPNs.
• Support and manage Zscaler Zero Trust platform (ZCC, ZIA, ZPA).
• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity; resolve issues through root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with security providers on SIEM and incident response.
• Maintain firmware and patches; plan network integrations for new acquisitions.
• Develop network diagrams, runbooks, and documentation.
• Produce health dashboards and regular performance reports.
• Manage relationships with ISPs, carriers, and vendors.
• Support business continuity and data privacy requirements.

Job description

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure across corporate offices and operating company locations.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, including VLANs, routing, NAT, and firewall policies.
• Administer core network services, including DNS, DHCP, IP address management (IPAM), and site-to-site VPNs.
• Support and manage the Zscaler Zero Trust platform, including Zscaler Client Connector (ZCC), Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity, latency, and network outages, driving issues through root cause analysis and resolution.
• Collaborate with managed security providers on SIEM alerting, network security events, and incident response.
• Maintain network device firmware and operating systems, coordinating updates and security patching.
• Plan and execute network integrations for newly acquired operating companies as United Flow Technologies continues to grow.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration standards, operational runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Build and maintain network health dashboards and provide regular reporting on performance, availability, and potential risks.
• Manage relationships with internet service providers (ISPs), telecommunications carriers, and network hardware vendors.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for network infrastructure.
• Ensure network infrastructure complies with cybersecurity, business continuity, and data privacy requirements.
• Communicate and escalated network issues to IT leadership and infrastructure stakeholders as appropriate.
• 3+ years of hands‑on network engineering experience, preferable in multi‑site enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSI, switching, VLANs, NAT, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN and wireless networking.
• Experience configuring and managing next generation firewalls; Fortinet experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise switching and wireless networking platforms.
• Familiarity with SD‑WAN, network monitoring tools, and SIEM integrations.
• Understanding of network security principles, including network segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and least‑privilege access.
• Experience with PKI certificate management, renewals, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), and Microsoft Intune.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including the ability to create clear operational procedures and user‑facing documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Nice to Have

• Hands‑on experience with Zscaler Client Connector (ZCC), Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
• Experience with ReliaQuest GreyMatter.
