Job summary

Centric Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Hybrid Indianapolis team. You will design, implement, and support Azure networking and security, with emphasis on Palo Alto firewalls and hybrid cloud connectivity.

This W2T temporary contractor role requires 7+ years in network engineering, strong Azure networking, security policies, and IaC automation. You will collaborate across security, infrastructure, and vendor teams and participate in after-hours support when needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, wireless, DNS, DHCP, IPAM.
• Experience designing and supporting secure hybrid connectivity across cloud and on-premises.

In this role, you will:

• Design, implement, and support Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and related network security technologies.
• Support enterprise routing, switching, wireless, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, internet, and remote-access services.
• Design secure connectivity between Azure, on-premises locations, remote users, partners, and third-party providers.
• Implement network segmentation and security controls in partnership with Information Security.
• Monitor network availability, capacity, performance, and security and proactively address issues.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, replacements, and configuration changes.
• Develop network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using scripting, APIs, and configuration-management tools.
• Build and test redundancy, failover, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Maintain network diagrams, configurations, standards, inventories, and operational documentation.
• Evaluate emerging network technologies and vendor solutions to improve security, scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Lead network initiatives from technical design through implementation and operational support.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, critical incident response, and occasional after-hours support as needed.
• Use approved AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and work quality while following responsible AI practices.

Who You Are:

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, network infrastructure, or a related technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, wireless networking, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management.
• Experience designing and supporting secure hybrid connectivity across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Knowledge of network security, segmentation, firewall policies, and remote-access technologies.
• Experience with network automation, scripting, APIs, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with high availability, network redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate effectively with security, infrastructure, application, business, and vendor teams.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
