Job summary

Laitram L.L.C. Information Technology Services Department has an opening for a Network Engineer, reporting to the IT Design & Delivery Manager.

The role centers on the design, implementation, and escalated support of our Global LAN/WAN environment, with an emphasis on adapting to remote work and the growing number of internet-connected devices across our worldwide manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate with the Network and Infrastructure teams on projects to optimize the network,

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, MIS or related field, or 7+ years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years in an infrastructure environment.
• Experience scoping and sequencing IT projects.
• Self-managed with ability to work in a global team.
• Strong analytical skills and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and provide 3rd level support for global systems.
• Manage Global MPLS Network and routing protocols.
• Support Cisco LAN/WLAN/WAN environment and VPNs.
• Document installation, configuration, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure team and perform planned changes.

Laitram L.L.C. Information Technology Services Department has an opening for a Network Engineer, reporting to the IT Design & Delivery Manager. The primary responsibilities for this position include the design, implementation, and escalated support of our Global LAN/WAN environment.

The successful candidate will have an understanding and enthusiasm to adapt our network for the demands of remote working, and continued proliferation of internet-connected devices in our global manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and provide 3 rd level support for various global systems, including, but not limited to:
• Global MPLS Network
• Global Routing Protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF)
• Cisco based LAN/WLAN/WAN environment
• Site-to-Site VPN/Remote access VPN
• Operational Technology (OT) at our global manufacturing facilities
• Cisco Nexus 7K, 5K and 2K
• Fortinet FortiGate (NGFW)
• Participate in projects intended to continually optimize our Network Infrastructure
• Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness with a focus on business use-cases
• Maintain effective communication with business-users and team members around design decisions, and implementation statuses and timelines
• Author technical installation, configuration, and support documentation
• Collaborate with peers on the Network team and as a member of the larger Infrastructure team
• Perform planned system changes and upgrades with minimal impact to business operations which may require after hours or weekend work
• Up to 10% travel for the purpose of project executions

Requirements:

• B. S. in Computer Science, MIS or related field; or 7+ years of related work experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an infrastructure environment
• Experience scoping and sequencing IT related projects
• Self-managed; ability to work well independently and in a global team environment
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priorities
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis
