Job summary

INflow Federal is seeking a Network Engineer to support DoD warfighter missions with a network spanning Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Riverbed, and McAfee devices. You will manage Routers, Switches, VPNs, IPS, and WAN accelerators, with a focus on reliability and secure operations.

The role requires 4+ years as a network technician, DoD Secret clearance, and hands-on experience with network devices across large LAN/WAN environments. Travel may be required; driver’s license and transport needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle outage and maintenance tickets for 20,000+ users with on-site and remote support.
• Troubleshoot outages and resolve network issues.
• Provide COMSEC-related briefings and TACLANES re-keying.
• Install and upgrade routers, switches, and network devices.
• Follow policies and escalate as needed.
• Document incidents and corrective actions in the incident system.

Job Overview

INflow is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will contribute to the DoD warfighter mission through your passion for technology. This network includes Cisco, Aruba, Brocade, Juniper, Riverbed and McAfee network devices to include Routers, Switches, Access Points, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and WAN Accelerators. What You'll be Doing

• Handles outage and maintenance tickets servicing more than 20000 users through onsite and remote troubleshooting assistance for layer 1 - 3 issues, hardware installations of new and upgraded routers, switches, COMSEC/TACLANES, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, Aruba wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX’s, device configurations and reconfigurations, and LAN/WAN outage recovery
• Troubleshooting outages and resolve network related issues.
• Local element for COMSEC - given briefings on troubleshooting TACLANES, Trained to re-key the TACLANES
• Install and upgrade network devices and components. This includes switches, routers, and network monitoring devices
• Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed
• Investigate, resolve, documente, and reporte the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk

What We're Looking For

• Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years' experience as a Network Technician
• Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages
• Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required
• Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment
• Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is a Plus
• Knowledge and experience working with wireless technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable

Requirements

• Minimum of a DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelors Degree and 4 years or a combination of education and experience
• CompTIA Security+ CE
• CCNA preferred/or willing to obtain

Certification Requirements

Most of our contracts require DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) compliance. We built 8140.study - our certification training platform - to help. This helps you study for certifications such as the CompTIA Security+.
