Job summary

INflow Federal in Springfield, VA seeks a Sr. Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer to join a defense-focused team delivering scalable OpenShift-based solutions. You will automate deployments, optimize performance, and collaborate with security to maintain compliance in a DoD context.

Required: TS/SCI clearance, 5+ years IT, strong OpenShift, AWS, Linux admin, and CI/CD tooling. Travel may be required; candidate must hold DoD 8140/8570 familiarity and a DoD security mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years IT experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure.
• 5+ years experience with Platform as a Service offerings (OpenShift, Tanzu).

Responsibilities

• O&M of OpenShift across multiple security domains in Cloud and datacenter (vSphere).
• Support OpenShift operators and frameworks including Crossplane, Kyverno, RedHat GitOps.
• Deploy OpenShift to new sites as they come online.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams on integration requirements and scale platforms.
• Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions.
• Support data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack.
• Compile detailed documentation.

Job Overview

Deliver simple solutions to solve complex problems! As a Sr. Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared Sr. Hybrid Cloud Platform Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA.

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; provide customers technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• O&M of existing Red Hat OpenShift environment across multiple security domains in both Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments
• Support OpenShift operators and frameworks including Crossplane, Kyverno, RedHat GitOps
• Deploy OpenShift to new sites as they come online
• Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements and scale existing platforms to meet them
• Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions
• Support data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack
• Compile detailed documentation

Required Skills

• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, CentOS
• CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitOps

Desired Skills

• Experience deploying and managing RedHat OpenShift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment
• Python, Shell scripting, Git (desired)
• Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general

Desired Certifications

• RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
• 5+ years IT experience
• 5+ years experience with Platform as a Service Offerings (e.g. RedHat OpenShift, Tanzu, etc)

Required Clearance

• Active DoD TS/SCI

Certification Requirements

Most of our contracts require DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) compliance. We built 8140.study - our certification training platform - to help. This helps you study for certifications such as the CompTIA Security+.
