Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Locations: Tonawanda, NY

Duration : 12+ months with possible extension

Rate : $30 to $40/hr on W2

Role Overview

• This position is responsible for on-site support in a manufacturing environment, covering IT end-user devices, applications, and infrastructure. The role involves hands-on work, physical tasks, and daily interaction with business units. A significant portion of time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support network change controls as required.
• Engage in network upgrade and integration projects planned for 2025.
• Use remote PC management tools to assist users.
• Complete assigned IT project tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
• Follow direction from the site IT manager in alignment with IT policies.
• Support production shifts as the focal point for IT-related requests and incident resolution.
• Coordinate fact-finding and business impact assessments with business partners.
• Use corporate IT tools for asset management, patching, and software installation.
• Perform client patching for cybersecurity protection using BigFix.
• Handle hardware refresh and break/fix repairs.
• Power cycle infrastructure equipment, including data center equipment.
• Manage data center operations and plant floor telecom closets.
• Interface with plant personnel, vendors, launch teams, and telecom engineering staff.
• Climb ladders or stairs to access network cabinets when necessary.

Typical Day

• 3–5 small tasks (e.g., break/fix calls, configuring network wall jacks, wireless setup, PC installation).
• 1 larger task per week (e.g., preparing a room for IT readiness).
• Collaboration with the IT manager, an operations specialist, and central support teams.
• Regular check-ins with other locations to share updates and solutions.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (technical/engineering field ideal).
• Years of experience may substitute for formal education.

Experience:

• 2–4 years of relevant IT/networking experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge in network configuration and Cisco equipment.
• Experience in network refreshes and acting as a subject matter expert for networking.
• Additional skills in end-user support, help desk, and server management are highly valued.

Certifications:

• CCNA certification preferred but not required.

Top 3 Must-Have Skills:

• Cisco programming or network configuration (routers, switches, etc.).
• Experience with network refresh projects.
• Self-starter with initiative and deep networking expertise.

Interview Process

• Round 1: Video interview (Teams) – background discussion, interest in the role, basic technical questions. Duration: 1 hour.
• Round 2: Only if needed.
