Job summary

Auria is seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure network infrastructure onsite at Camp Pendleton, CA. This role requires an active Secret clearance and hands-on experience with C5ISR-inspired networking concepts.

You will work as part of a US Marine Corps–aligned team, plan upgrades, troubleshoot, document solutions, and support virtual and physical network components, including WAN/LAN, wifi, and security hardening.

Qualifications

  • Advanced network training and 4 years of demonstrated network engineering experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD IAT Level 2 security certification.
  • Demonstrated TCP/IP analysis and troubleshooting with a packet analyzer.
  • Experience with System Administration with MS Windows or Linux.
  • Experience with VMware Virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan for new initiatives and expand the existing network infrastructure.
  • Understand the diversity of the network and modernize it securely.
  • Provide solutions for traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop documentation and how-to guides on C5ISR networks.
  • Install, deploy, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware or virtual networks.
  • Integrate multiple transport systems to support WAN connectivity (satellite, RF, troposcatter).
  • Document solutions/diagrams for network issues and innovative workarounds.
  • Install hardware/software, create backups, and monitor performance.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot virtual infrastructures and admin workstations.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot Network Services (DNS, Mail/Exchange, etc.).
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Wi‑Fi networks and other wireless tech for tactical deployments.
  • Provide expertise on SD‑WAN, NAC, segmentation, and secure campus solutions.
  • Perform cybersecurity hardening and security monitoring (STIGs, ACAS).
  • Manage/maintain security configurations within network per requirements.

Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Network Engineer. This role is ONSITE at Camp Pendleton, CA. This is currently a contingent position and requires an active Secret security clearance.

The Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) provides 24/7 global technical support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems; and conducts engineering, testing and evaluation, and supports experimentation on C5I systems and amphibious platforms to inform acquisition decisions and make the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) more capable. This contract will provide Data Management and Cybersecurity services to support the command’s mission of Testing, Engineering, Integration, and Sustainment of the Marine Corps C5ISR Programs of Record.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Plan for new initiatives and expand the existing network infrastructure.
  • Understand the diversity of the network and innovate our ability to modernize the network in a secure fashion.
  • Provide solutions based on issues like traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and routine troubleshooting.
  • Development documentation and how to guides on networks incorporating various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems.
  • Deploy, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware or virtual network infrastructure such as routers, switches, and network monitoring devices typically employed by the Fleet Marine Force.
  • Integrate multiple network transport systems (USMC C4) to support wide-area network connectivity (e.g., satellite, radio frequency, troposcatter and other line-of-sight capabilities) as well as tactical landlines (e.g., tactical fiber optic cabling).
  • Document solutions/blueprints/diagrams for any network-related issues, break through innovations or cutting-edge workarounds for current fielded programs and future programs or experiments.
  • Install hardware or software as required, create backups for all systems, and monitor system performance.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot the virtual infrastructure environments and network administrator workstations.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot Network Services, (Domain Controllers, DNS, Mail/Exchange, etc.).
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Wi-Fi networks and other wireless technologies in support of tactical deployments.
  • Provide expertise regarding Software-Defined Networks to include SD-WAN, wireless networking, network access control (NAC), segmentation, and secure campus solutions for distributed operations.
  • Perform cybersecurity hardening and security monitoring on network infrastructures (STIGs, patching, ACAS scanning, etc.).
  • Manage/maintain security related configurations within the network based on operational requirements.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • Advanced network training and 4 years of demonstrated network engineering experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD IAT Level 2 security certification
  • Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP analysis and troubleshooting with a packet analyzer.
  • Experience with System Administration with MS Windows or Linux.
  • Experience with VMware Virtualization technologies.
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • Certified in Wireshark Certified Network Analyst or RCPE Professional Packet Analyzer Plus.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional (Route/Switch).
  • VMware Certified Associate or Specialty.
  • SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor (SAM) Certified Professional.
  • Experience or training with a Scripting Language (ex: Perl, PowerShell, Linux Shell, etc.).
  • Experience with Department of Defense tactical Wide Area Networks (WAN) utilizing tactical Radio Frequency and Satellite transmission systems.
  • Experience with Instrumentation, Collection and Data Management of In-Band/Out-of-Band networks for data collection & analysis services.
  • Experience with design and implementation of Modeling and Simulation test tools.
PAY TRANSPARENCY:

The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $110,000 - $115,000
