Job summary

Sharp Brains is seeking an experienced Smart Hands Network Engineer to support onsite network infrastructure in Skaneateles, NY on a contract basis. Active CCNA certification and hands-on Cisco experience are required.

Responsibilities include installing, replacing, and documenting network hardware, performing rack & stack, cabling, and providing onsite support to remote engineering teams. Independent onsite work and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Active CCNA certification is required.
• Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and enterprise networking equipment.
• Hands-on with rack & stack, structured cabling and hardware replacement.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience in Smart Hands, Field Services, Data Center, or Network Support.

We are seeking an experienced Smart Hands Network Engineer to support onsite network infrastructure dispatch activities at a client location in Skaneateles, NY. This is a contract opportunity for engineers with strong hands-on networking experience and a valid CCNA certification.

Responsibilities:

• Install, replace, and decommission network equipment
• Perform rack & stack activities for network hardware
• Trace, label, and patch copper and fiber cabling
• Install and replace Cisco switches, routers, and related hardware
• Provide onsite Smart Hands support to remote network engineering teams
• Perform console access, device validation, and basic network troubleshooting
• Verify hardware connectivity and assist with implementation activities
• Document completed work and communicate project status

Required Qualifications:

• Active CCNA certification (Required)
• Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and enterprise networking equipment
• Hands‑on experience with rack & stack, structured cabling, and hardware replacement
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and basic network troubleshooting
• Experience working in Smart Hands, Field Services, Data Center, or Network Support environments
• Ability to follow implementation plans and work independently onsite
• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Required SFP modules (as applicable)

Compensation & Payment:

• Competitive hourly rate
• Monthly invoicing based on approved hours worked and completed activities
• Payment processed within Net 15 days after invoice approval
