Position: Network Data Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote Work from Home) - Working hours 8 AM PST to 5 PM PST

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Primary Skills

Secondary Skills

• Aruba Wireless, F5 Load Balancer, Security Palo Alto

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Configure and support network and security products.
2. Manage and maintain all network device configurations.
3. Suggest network upgrades and hardware reconfigurations to prevent issues.
4. Provide technical support and implement long-term fixes to reduce issues.
5. Assist with network studies, traffic analysis, and prepare forecast reports.
6. Recommend modifications to network configurations to reduce costs and add value.
7. Provide expert-level support for enterprise-wide data communication networks.

Mandatory Knowledge Areas

• Cisco Routing: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS basics, VRF, MPBGP, Multicast
• Cisco Switching: STP, VTP, HSRP, VRRP, VLAN, Trunk, Port-channel, Loop Prevention, IOS Upgrades
• Cisco Nexus Switches: vPC, VDC, M card, F card, upgrades
• Cisco Wireless and Prime: Management and troubleshooting, basic operations
• CheckPoint Gaia: MDS, URL Filtering, HTTPS Inspection, Policies, Traffic Analysis, Smart Monitor, Alerts
• Cisco ASA Firewall: VPN, IPSEC, ACL, NAT

• Cisco Stealth Watch: NetFlow Traffic analysis
