Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a Network Development Engineer II to design, build, and operate network infrastructure across data center and engineering labs. You will own architectures that support production systems and testing environments, delivering reliability and scalability.

You bring data center networking fundamentals and production-grade thinking; this role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
• 4+ years of experience in a Linux/Unix environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy network architectures across data center and infrastructure environments.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows; build tooling that enables infrastructure to scale at higher volume.
• Operate and sustain multi-tenant network environments including technology refresh, scaling, and optimization — delivering simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-domain network events spanning physical layer through application connectivity; diagnose root cause and mitigate impact.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software engineering teams to define requirements and ensure smooth rollout of new designs and products.
• Lead projects in network deployment, sustaining engineering, and infrastructure scaling.
• Maintain standards for change management, documentation (SOPs, implementation guides, knowledge transfer), and configuration control; ensure compliance across the networking toolset.
