Job summary

Genesis10 is seeking a Network Designer for a remote role with a major telecommunications company, headquartered in Charlotte, NC. This contract position involves designing circuit paths, loading equipment, and producing accurate design layout records to support network orders.

You will collaborate with planning and engineering teams to provision equipment and provide technical support to ensure successful network orders, while maintaining records across multiple systems and meeting SLAs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of optical networking equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, and Alcatel.
• Knowledge of telecommunications inventory systems such as TIRKS, OMNIvue, WMS, WFMT, BOSS.
• Knowledge of inside plant fiber optic structured wiring design, construction, and operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Able to demonstrate teamwork, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design/Redesign Layer 1 circuit layout records in TIRKS and reflect the network build.
• Collaborate with Planning and Engineering to provision equipment and infrastructure circuits.
• Maintain and support network infrastructure records in applicable applications.
• Process orders according to SLAs, on-time performance and quality standards.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers for engineering, installation and testing.

** Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network Designer - Remote position with a Major Telecommunications Company located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.**

This role is responsible for internal network order fulfillment, designing circuit paths and equipment loads within the network. The ideal candidate will produce accurate design layout records, collaborate with planning and engineering teams to provision equipment, and provide technical support for the successful completion of all network orders.

** Responsibilities:**

• Design/Redesign Layer 1 circuit layout records in TIRKS database to accurately reflect the network build including DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet and IP across the Network
• Resolve any inventory discrepancies in accordance with the EIRG/FIRG database and job aides
• Collaborate with Planning and Engineering to build and provision equipment and infrastructure circuits that support our customer need
• Understand the fiber cable configurations in relation to above solutions
• Maintain and Support Network Infrastructure records in all applicable applications
• Demonstrate ability to efficiently and accurately design and process internal network orders
• Process orders according to SLAs, on-time performance and quality standards
• Manage the assigned queue demonstrating strong time management skills and commitment to customer excellence
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers for engineering, installation and testing as required for the successful completion of all network orders
• Perform project-based duties based on organizational growth demands

• Attention to detail to ensure entrance and exit criteria met in accordance with the customer expectation
