Job summary

MANTECH seeks a Network Deployment Engineer to join our Chantilly, VA team. This onsite role involves planning, deploying, and supporting network hardware and configurations, with emphasis on secure, scalable architectures.

Responsibilities include site surveys, configuration of routers/switches/servers, and daily IT support across client/server/storage/network systems. A TS/SCI clearance is required or imminent; travel readiness is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with IT experience as specified.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+).
• DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience administering Windows Server family and AD/Exchange.
• Experience with DNS, PKI, Group Policy, and security hardening.
• VMware products, vSphere, Horizon View experience.
• Basic networking, DHCP/TCPIP, workstation imaging, thin/zero clients.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 75% within the U.S. and occasionally 5–10% OCONUS for deployments.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Deployment Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA . This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and execute site deployments, including planning, scheduling, and on-site installation of hardware and configurations

• Conduct site surveys to assess network environments, gather user requirements, and document current configurations

• Configure routers, switches, computers, and peripherals; implement and maintain secure, reliable network architecture

• Provide daily IT support across client/server/storage/network systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem resolution

• Manage system configurations and documentation, oversee hardware procurement, inventory, equipment movement, and shipping

• Ensure compliance with security directives and support architecture improvements through change requests and performance recommendations

• Travel up to 75% within the U.S. and occasionally (5–10%) OCONUS to perform deployment activities, surveys, installations, and on-site support

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+years of IT related experience, or an Associates degree with 6+ years of IT experience, or a High School Diploma with 11+ years of experience may be substituted for a degree

• DoD 8570IAT Level II Certification, e.g., Security+

• DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification required within 6 months of hire, e.g., MCSA, VCP, or equivalent

• Experience with Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Servers; Microsoft Windows 10; administering Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and workstation and server hardware; administering Microsoft Office 2010/2016; administering DNS, Group Policy, and PKI; administering vSphere, Horizon View, data backup, and antivirus software; basic networking including DHCP/TCPIP; experience with deploying workstation images; and experience with thin and/or zero clients

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, or VMware products

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software

• Experience using a Service Desk ticketing system, such as ServiceNow

Preferred Qualifications:

• Outstanding customer relationship management skills

• Ability to operate under minimal supervision.

• Experience in the following areas: hardware/software security, router and switch communications protocols, network management, encryption techniques, firewall rule definition and authentication technologies.

• Working knowledge of communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, including DNS, Group Policy, and PKI

• Good working knowledge of applying security best practices from DISA and/or vendors.

• Basic networking

• ITIL Foundations certification

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
