Job description

Job Description:

1. Have an understanding of Fiber, Coax & Ethernet mediums
2. Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet/Intranet connectivity
3. Strong knowledge of Layer 2 network services including VTP, VLAN and STP protocols
4. Hands on experience utilizing routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and MPLS
5. Understanding of relationship between switches, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
6. Familiarity of Data Center fiber and copper cabling installation, patching, and Industry Standard best practices
7. Infrastructure experience with configuration, management, and troubleshooting switches, IDF's, wiring etc.
8. Experience with Terminal Services
9. Experience with wireless technologies, including 802.11a/b/g/n, WAP configuration, 802.1x, site surveys, monitoring, and fault isolation preferred (Cisco CAPWAP wireless experience)
10. IP address assignment-best practices
11. Understanding of DHCP & DNS services
12. Work to create and execute on MOPs
13. Able to create and maintain detailed network documentation
14. Knowledge of data protocols, IT architectures, networking standards and security best practices
15. Knowledge and experience with VoIP is a plus
16. Work outside of normal business hours when required (scheduled maintenance, outage response) and participates in on-call rotation.
17. Ability to lift 70+ lbs. carry, and/or otherwise move items weighing approximately 50 pounds; climb ladders, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
