Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks a NITE Network Control Technician to administer, maintain, and defend Navy NETTN infrastructure supporting enterprise modeling and simulation.

Responsibilities include coordinating with teams to monitor servers and networks, performing Windows admin tasks, applying STIGs, patching Microsoft servers, and leveraging VMware and SolarWinds for performance monitoring. Strong problem solving and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; 0 with PhD/JD; or 9 years with HS diploma.
  • Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Windows client/server administration and patching.
  • Experience with VMware.
  • Experience with STIGs and patch management.

Job Description

The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Control Technician is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client, server, and network infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices used throughout the enterprise.
  • Perform Microsoft Windows client/server administration, maintenance, and patching.
  • Configure systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide independent work ability and collaborate within a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's degree; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Security+ or equivalent certification.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Windows desktop operating systems (WIN11).
  • Experience with Cisco switching and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations.
  • Experience with VMware.
  • Experience with network and performance monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
  • Strong technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to quickly read, understand, and apply technical information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Use of Enterprise Patching systems.
  • Cisco experience.
  • Linux, Microsoft, or Cisco certification.
Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
