Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) - Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator role within the Global Security (GS) group. Responsible for administration, maintenance, and cyber protection of NETTN client/server systems to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation.

You will work with cross-functional teams to update, monitor, and maintain servers and workstations; ensure security compliance and provide expert troubleshooting in DoD environments.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 4 years with a Master's in a related field.
  • Security+ or an equivalent certification.
  • Strong background in server administration.
  • L inc+ or Microsoft certification.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Customer-service mindset with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network admins.
  • Set up admin and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune performance.
  • Recommend hardware/software purchases, coordinate installation, provide backups.
  • Develop and monitor policies for allocation of computing resources.
  • Administer Windows servers.
  • Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Create/modify DHCP reservations.
  • Perform system patching and configuration per DoD STIGs.

Who We Are

The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity protection of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server systems that support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications within the NITE.

This role works closely with team members and cross-functional departments to update, monitor, and maintain servers and workstations across the enterprise.

What You Will Do
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Administering Microsoft Windows servers.
  • Managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Creating and modifying DHCP reservations.
  • Performing system patching and configuration in accordance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
What You Must Have
  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must have a Security+ or an equivalent certification.
  • Candidate must have a strong background in server administration.
  • Candidate must have Linux+ or Microsoft certification.
  • Candidate must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Candidate must be capable of reading and interpreting complex technical information.
  • Candidate must exhibit excellent attention to detail.
  • Candidate must maintain a strong customer-service mindset and effectively balance customer needs with multiple work priorities.
  • Candidate must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus Points For Having!

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
