Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our Network Configuration team to support the DHS CBP Network Operations Center. This role focuses on configuring, maintaining, and automating enterprise networks across multiple vendors in a large-scale environment, with onsite work in Ashburn, Springfield, or Orlando.

You will implement configuration changes, develop automation workflows, ensure compliance, and collaborate with cybersecurity and government stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network engineering or network operations environments.
• 2+ years of experience with network automation or configuration management.
• Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VPNs, ACLs, and network segmentation.
• Experience using network automation or configuration management tools.
• Experience with Git or similar version control tools.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise network devices in a large-scale environment.
• Use automation platforms to deploy and manage configurations across multi-vendor networks.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates for changes and upgrades.
• Automate ACL updates, VLAN provisioning, interface changes, and policy updates.
• Perform backups, version control, and change validation for continuity.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to align with DHS security requirements.
