TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Network Architect for a fully remote role based from the United States. The project focuses on Aruba ClearPass NAC deployment and a major AirWave to Aruba Central migration across 2,500+ devices and switches.

You will own end‑to‑end design, security architecture, deployment planning and operational optimization. Ideal candidates bring 7–10 years IT network engineering experience, ACX‑NS certification, and expert Aruba AOS/AOS‑CX experience.

Network Architect

Location: Tallahassee, FL (100% Remote, U.S.-based)

Contract: 8-Month Contract

Pay Rate: $80-$85/hr

Work Environment: Fully Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead a large-scale Aruba network modernization initiative. This individual will serve as the primary technical leader and principal point of communication for the project team while driving the design, deployment, and optimization of a statewide enterprise network environment. This role will focus on implementing Aruba ClearPass Network Access Control (NAC) across more than 2,500 devices and switches while simultaneously leading the migration of 2,500+ Aruba switches from AirWave to Aruba Central cloud management. The Architect will own the end-to-end design strategy, security architecture, deployment planning, and operational optimization efforts. This position offers the opportunity to influence and modernize a mission‑critical statewide network environment by implementing cloud‑managed networking, policy‑based access controls, improved wireless infrastructure, and centralized monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Network Architecture & Modernization
  • Lead the Aruba network modernization program across a statewide enterprise environment.
  • Design and implement enterprise network architecture supporting Aruba AOS and AOS-CX environments.
  • Serve as the technical lead and primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and highly available network designs.
Aruba ClearPass & Network Access Control
  • Architect and deploy Aruba ClearPass NAC solutions across more than 2,500 devices and switches.
  • Design and implement device fingerprinting policies.
  • Configure and manage 802.1X certificate-based authentication services.
  • Create role mapping policies, VLAN assignments, and Downloadable User Roles (DURs).
  • Troubleshoot and optimize device and user certificate deployments.
Aruba Central & AirWave Migration
  • Lead migration efforts from Aruba AirWave to Aruba Central cloud architecture.
  • Manage deployment and operational transition activities.
  • Build monitoring, reporting, and dashboard capabilities within Aruba Central.
  • Maintain and support AirWave environments throughout migration activities.
Wireless Infrastructure
  • Configure and deploy Aruba wireless controllers and access points.
  • Conduct wireless site surveys and predictive heat mapping.
  • Perform RF tuning and wireless coverage optimization.
  • Improve wireless performance and operational visibility across enterprise environments.
Automation & Operational Excellence
  • Identify opportunities to automate network administration and operational processes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture standards.
  • Enhance monitoring, alerting, and operational procedures.
  • Utilize scripting and APIs where appropriate to streamline administration activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Active HPE Aruba Networking Certified Expert Network Security (ACX-NS) certification.
  • Expert‑level experience deploying and managing Aruba ClearPass.
  • Expert‑level experience deploying and managing Aruba Central.
  • 7-10 years of IT infrastructure and network engineering experience.
  • Strong in network planning, architecture, design, engineering, and optimization.
  • Experience working with Aruba AOS and AOS‑CX environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of certificate deployment, authentication services, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise‑scale network environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as the primary technical lead for an Aruba AirWave to Aruba Central migration involving more than 2,000 switches.
  • HPE Advanced Product Certified in ClearPass.
  • Python scripting experience.
  • PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Experience automating network configurations and API‑driven workflows.
  • Extensive operational experience with Aruba AirWave.
  • Palo Alto administration experience, including:
    • Panorama
    • Prisma Access
    • Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
    • Digital Experience Monitoring
    • Strata Logging Service

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
