TEKsystems is seeking a Wireless Engineer to design, plan, and optimize Wi-Fi networks, and to lead wireless projects from conception to launch. The role requires auditing networks, recommending improvements, and ensuring efficient installation at client sites.

Strong knowledge of 802.11 standards and RF concepts is expected, with excellent English communication. This contract position is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with a fully remote workplace and potential on-site needs.

Description

This Wireless Engineer: Wi-Fi will need to be able to perform the following tasks: Design, plan, establish, and optimize wireless networks. Develop wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization. Determine client requirement and execute all wireless projects for clients from conception to launch. The ability to perform detailed audits of wireless networks and ensure viability with network and recommend solutions for incompatibility. Monitor efficient installation of product at customer site and ensure efficiency of various engineering work. Understand and have in-depth knowledge of concepts such as: CCI, RSSI, RF Modulation, RADIUS, MCS Chart, 802.11r, 802.11k, 802.11ac, 802.11ax, Channel-Width, Channel Sizing, DFS, SNR, CBRS and OFDMA, WPA2, WPA3 and QAM.

  15. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including, evenings and weekends and participate with on-call rotations.
  16. Ability to travel when requested
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Plan for designs/projects to deliver excellent quality of services for several years to come
  2. Audit network designs for over-design or under-design.
  3. Properly scope requirements for projects.
  4. Work and engage with other members outside of the engineering department.
  5. Train and work with operational level staff members.
  6. Other duties as required or assigned.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
