Job summary

HRUCKUS is seeking an experienced Network and Security Analyst for an onsite assignment in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of Incident Handler/Incident Response experience and a current DoD 8570 CSSP-Analyst certification.

The role focuses on coordinating enterprise-wide network security monitoring, alert management, and incident response to strengthen cybersecurity posture for defense-related networks.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in IT or Related Field.
  • 8 years of Incident Handler/Incident Response experience.
  • Ability to lead cyber investigations and brief updates to the customer and team lead.
  • Current DoD 8570 CSSP-Analyst certification (CEH, CFR, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, SCYBER).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across the enterprise to ensure network security devices are monitored and are generating alerts.
  • Identify security risks and exposures, determine causes of security violations, and suggest procedures to halt future incidents and improve cybersecurity posture.
  • Perform network traffic analysis using raw packet data, net flow, IDS/IPS, and custom sensor output for communications networks.
  • Device monitoring of tiered alerts for all operational networks.
  • Maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Create incident reports with high-level and in-depth details for investigations.
  • Lead investigations and mentor junior analysts.
  • Develop training pipeline and brown bag sessions for team cross training.
