Job summary

Emory University seeks a Network Analyst/Tech to support configuration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network services and devices. This role operates in Emory's Network Operations Center, ensuring enterprise-wide systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities include monitoring critical processes, on-call support to restore service, and developing documentation. In-person work is typical, with possible remote work at department discretion.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and two years of IT experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with configuring, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network services.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting, testing, and coding.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise-wide systems and applications in the Network Operations Center to ensure job completions.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network services and devices.
  • Provide 24x7 coverage and on-call support to restore service and meet SLAs.
  • Interact with customers to resolve network issues and develop documentation.
  • Report to the NOC Manager or Run/Build Manager and perform other duties as required.

Job description

Network Analyst/Tech is a central university office position that supports the configuration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network services and devices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • In the Network Operations Center, monitor critical processes for Emory's enterprise-wide systems and applications, monitors data downloads to ensure job completions, and addresses interruptions and failures.
  • Interacts with others to resolve issues within a timely manner.
  • Maintains 24 x 7 coverage and support, including on-call support, to assist with restoring service and maintaining agreed upon service levels.
  • Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots network services and devices.
  • Interacts with customers to resolve network issues.
  • Performs inspections and upgrades.
  • Develops and maintains documentation.
  • Has strong technical aptitude about troubleshooting and testing activities related to network services.
  • Has the aptitude to perform troubleshooting, testing, scripting and coding.
  • Assists with systems, provides support without direction, and support modifications/changes to configuration.
  • Reports to the NOC Manager, or the Run or Build Manager of Network Services.
  • Performs other duties as required.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
