Job summary

JoCo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own and improve a large-scale Cisco wireless environment, with SD-WAN and core network responsibilities across a multi-site enterprise.

You will lead RF planning, troubleshooting, and deployment efforts, maintain campus networking services, and drive reliability and performance through proactive improvements. Strong certification and automation skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise networking experience.
• Production-level experience administering Catalyst 9800 controllers, Catalyst Center/DNA Center, and Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN.
• Strong knowledge of RF engineering, wireless surveys, Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, roaming standards, 802.1X/EAP-TLS, WPA3, packet analysis.
• Experience with Cisco ISE, advanced routing, and network automation.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize Cisco Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers, access points, and Catalyst Center operations across the enterprise.
• Diagnose wireless and client-connectivity issues, manage Cisco TAC escalations, and improve Wi-Fi performance.
• Perform RF planning, site surveys, wireless security configuration, telemetry validation, and performance reporting.
• Support Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN operations, WAN Edge deployments, segmentation, policy configuration, and branch activations.
• Maintain campus switching, routing, ISE, and DNS/DHCP services with CMDB processes.
• Deliver wireless infrastructure projects, develop runbooks, and reduce recurring incidents via proactive improvements.

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for owning and improving a large-scale Cisco wireless environment, with additional responsibility for SD-WAN and core network infrastructure. The position will drive wireless reliability, RF performance, troubleshooting, network deployments, and operational improvements across a complex multi-site enterprise.

What are the responsibilities?

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will:

• Own and optimize Cisco Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers, access points, and Catalyst Center operations across the enterprise.
• Diagnose complex wireless and client-connectivity issues, manage Cisco TAC escalations through resolution, and improve overall Wi-Fi performance.
• Perform RF planning, site surveys, wireless security configuration, telemetry validation, and performance reporting.
• Support Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN operations, including WAN Edge deployments, segmentation, policy configuration, branch activations, and on-call coverage.
• Maintain campus switching, routing, ISE, and DNS/DHCP services while following established change-management and CMDB processes.
• Deliver wireless infrastructure projects, develop operational runbooks, and reduce recurring incidents through proactive network improvements.

What are the requirements?

• 5+ years of enterprise networking experience.
• 3+ years focused on Cisco wireless environments supporting multiple sites.
• Production-level experience administering Catalyst 9800 controllers, Catalyst Center/DNA Center, and Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN.
• Strong knowledge of RF engineering, wireless surveys, Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 technologies, roaming standards, 802.1X/EAP-TLS, WPA3, packet analysis, and over-the-air troubleshooting.
• Current CCNA and Cisco Enterprise Wireless Specialist certification; CCNP Enterprise with a wireless concentration is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Cisco ISE, advanced routing, network automation using Python or PowerShell/REST APIs, SolarWinds, or Infoblox is advantageous.
• Background supporting wireless networks in industrial, warehouse, outdoor, data center, utility, or other tightly controlled operational environments is highly desirable.
