Job summary

Beyond SOF seeks a Senior Wireless Engineer to support a large federal government agency's network infrastructure on a fully onsite basis in the Quantico area. You will design, develop, install, modify, and test wireless networks across multiple enclaves and classifications, translating designs into compliant architectures.

Candidates should have 6+ years in wireless, a TS clearance with SCI eligibility, WLAN topology experience, survey tools, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 6+ years of experience in wireless.
  • 6+ years designing, developing, and implementing wireless solutions.
  • Experience with WLAN topologies: indoor, outdoor, high-density, campus, mesh, remote, and industrial.
  • Experience with WLAN survey tools for Active/Passive and AP-on-a-Stick surveys.
  • Experience with Spectrum Analyzer tools and AAA/identity-based access for WLAN deployments and WIDS/WIPS security.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, develop, install, modify, and test wireless networks.
  • Translate designs into architecturally compliant networks and systems.
  • Provide senior leadership and guidance to contractor staff on projects.
  • Troubleshoot wireless client devices and network connectivity issues.
  • Advise on different networking implementations and designs and provide recommendations.

The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency’s highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.
The Senior Wireless Engineer will be responsible for plan, design, develop, install, modify, and test networks, application programs and/or computer based systems. Translate systems/subsystems designs and detailed designs into fully functioning and architecturally compliant networks, applications or computer-based systems. This position requires knowledge of servers, workstations, and other programmable systems such as controllers and handheld devices. The Senior Wireless Engineer will provide advice on differing networking implementations and designs. Provide problem resolution, compliance testing and design recommendations.
They must have hands‑on experience with internet working equipment to include configuration, installation and/or troubleshooting. Work with senior technical and user staff in a consultative role on their projects. Aid and provide guidance to less experienced contractor technical staff. This position will provide senior level leadership to the project in all areas of technical implementation.
Qualifications:
  • Active TopSecret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 6+ years of experience
  • 6+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing wireless solutions
  • Experience with various WLAN topologies, including indoor, outdoor, high‑density, campus, mesh, remote, and industrial
  • Experience with WLAN survey tools to perform Active, Passive, and AP on a Stick surveys
  • Experience with Spectrum Analyzer tools Experience with AAA and identity‑based access solutions for WLAN deployments Experience with wireless intrusion detection and prevention systems, including WIDS and WIPS
  • Understanding of Cisco switching and ability to troubleshoot basic AP connectivity issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot wireless client devices Ability to perform monitoring of various WLAN technologies and topologies
  • Ability to be a self‑starter and work independently, with good communication (written and oral) and coordination skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • CCNP or CCIE Certification
  • Experience working on an Enterprise Network
