Job summary

Vets Hired in Sumter, SC seeks a Network Administrator to manage and protect its WAN and LAN infrastructure. You will provide 24/7 WAN transport operations, troubleshoot protocols, and support ongoing deployments.

The role requires 3+ years' experience, firewall and Active Directory knowledge, and Microsoft server administration. You will configure and monitor networks, document incidents, and assist with outages and performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 WAN transport operations support.
• Troubleshoot and develop solutions using LAN/WAN protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot IP/MPLS backbone networks.
• Assist with installation and configuration of existing and new WAN transport systems.
• Develop standardized testing and cutover plans for new WAN equipment.
• Establish testing and remote-monitoring procedures to ensure reliable WAN operations.
• Collect and analyze networking metrics to identify substandard network performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot Quality of Service (QoS), including policing, shaping, and queuing.
• Document and report bandwidth and network security incidents for analysis and trending.
• Provide first-level technical support to users and escalated complex issues when necessary.
• Act as a technical consultant and provide recommendations for optimizing WAN transport networks.
• Identify and evaluate the operational impact of network outages.
• Coordinate with external agencies for outage resolution.
• Perform required outage notifications according to established policies and procedures.
• Support daily communication status reporting.
• Provide general networking support.
• Provide LAN support.
• Provide WAN enterprise support.
• Provide technical and general operations and maintenance (O&M) support.
