Job description

The Network Administrator will be responsible for providing cybersecurity analysis, information technology support, and applying DoD security controls to operating systems and applications. The contractor shall provide qualified personnel to function as the Privileged User (e.g., Network Administrator) as required by the Risk Management Framework (RMF)/Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), Rev 4, and as amended. The contractor shall perform a wide range of network administration and lifecycle management tasks to support and sustain IT networks as directed by the Government IT Lead. The environment includes Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, NetGear switches, Type I encryption devices, servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, upgrade, support, and monitor Cisco routers and switches to ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Develop and implement access control lists for Cisco routers, Cisco and NetGear switches, SonicWall, NetGear, and Cisco firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Establish network specifications by consulting with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements.
  • Evaluate network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, latency, and plan and execute the installation, configuration, and testing of equipment.
  • Define network policies and procedures, establish connections and firewalls.
  • Use tools such as Wireshark and Fluke for network support.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Manage COMSEC keying material and equipment, capable of configuring and administering NSA-approved Type I encryption devices per EKMS 1B policies.
  • Update and maintain cybersecurity system patching, conduct vulnerability assessments using ACAS, DISA STIGs, and SCAP, in collaboration with the ISSM/ISSO, following RMF/JSIG guidelines.
  • Communicate outage notifications, system metrics, performance reports, and project status to the Government IT Lead.
  • Develop plans, schedules, and provide weekly status updates on tasks.
  • Deliver monthly reports on accomplishments, metrics, and project progress.
  • Design network architectures, including interface configurations and routing protocols.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma; related experience may substitute for education.
  • U.S. citizenship and active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Network Administrator.
  • Maintain IA Workforce certifications per DoD 8570.01M, updated annually.
