Job summary

St. Louis County Library is hiring a full‑time Network Administrator to install, configure, and support the library’s computer network.

The role covers on‑premises and cloud Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, and security for all electronic resources. The position reports to the Information Technology Department and requires a Bachelor's in CS/MIS, strong communication skills, and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS
• Knowledge of installing, configuring, supporting and documenting Windows Server software, LAN and WAN environments, PCs, SAN, virtual servers and Cisco routers
• Valid driver's license with good driving record

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the management of the wide area network to provide network support for the library.
• Maintains wide area network hardware to ensure network connectivity between the Beak Administration Building and Branch locations.
• Troubleshoots and resolves operational, configuration and connectivity issues with the server operating systems, server applications and network devices.
• Oversees and maintains security on all Library electronic resources, servers, firewall and networking infrastructure.
• Installs and maintains Internet Access Manager servers.
• Deploys, configures, and maintains Windows Server infrastructure across hybrid environments, including on-premises and cloud platforms; administers Active Directory and cloud identity services.
