Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking a Network Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team in Plantation, FL. This senior role focuses on managing, maintaining, and optimizing our enterprise network across on-premises and cloud platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

You will collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and Service Desk teams to modernize infrastructure and implement secure connectivity, SD-WAN, and Zero Trust initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Network Administration, Network Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM; Routing and Switching; VLANs; Firewalls; VPNs; Wireless; SD-WAN; network monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (on-prem and cloud).
• Troubleshoot DNS/DHCP/IP addressing, VLANs, routing, NAT, and firewall policies.
• Support LAN/WAN/WLAN and hybrid cloud networking environments.
• Diagnose network performance issues and optimize connectivity and application access.
• Perform upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP documentation, device inventories, and configuration standards.
• Document and implement network changes with change management practices.
• Support SD-WAN and cloud connectivity between on-prem and cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).

About the Role

This role is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our enterprise network environment across on-premises and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with strong experience in network administration, cloud connectivity, cybersecurity best practices, and infrastructure operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure while supporting infrastructure modernization initiatives and collaborating with Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, and Service Desk teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration & Operations

• Manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity.
• Administer and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, VLANs, routing, switching, NAT, VPNs, and firewall policies.
• Support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and hybrid cloud networking environments.
• Diagnose and resolve network performance, connectivity, routing, latency, and application access issues.
• Perform network upgrades, hardware refreshes, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP address documentation, device inventories, and configuration standards.
• Participate in change management by documenting, reviewing, and implementing network changes.
• Support SD-WAN environments, including routing, policy management, failover, and performance optimization.
• Assist with networking across Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud environments.
• Configure and support virtual networks, subnets, routing tables, network security groups, VPN gateways, cloud firewalls, and private connectivity solutions.
• Collaborate with Cloud and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure connectivity between on-premises environments and cloud platforms.
• Implement secure network configurations aligned with cybersecurity best practices.
• Manage firewall policies, network segmentation, VPN access, and Zero Trust initiatives.
• Support vulnerability remediation, network hardening, patch management, and security compliance activities.
• Partner with Security teams to investigate network alerts, suspicious activity, and access-related incidents.
• Ensure network devices are securely configured, backed up, monitored, and regularly updated.
• Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform or similar automation tools.
• Assist with scripting and automation to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.
• Create and maintain network documentation, SOPs, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
• Document incidents, root cause analyses, remediation activities, and configuration changes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in Network Administration, Network Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Experience in regulated environments such as Healthcare, Financial Services, HIPAA, PCI, or SOC 2.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
