Job summary

BlueWater Federal is seeking a Network Administrator/Engineer to support the DOE EHSS Application, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity Support (AICS) program in a defense-related environment. The role focuses on secure network administration, systems analysis, and documentation across UNIX/Linux, Microsoft, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities include configuring and securing classified devices, reviewing and debugging systems, assisting users, and supporting vulnerability remediation and logs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or 6 years of equivalent experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Q clearance.
• Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems; ability to write documentation.
• Familiarity with relational databases, client-server, UNIX/Linux, Microsoft and cloud.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, monitor, patch, upgrade, and secure classified network devices, servers, systems, applications, terminals, and peripherals.
• Review, analyze, and modify programming and operational systems, including coding, testing, debugging, installation, and issue correction.
• Consult users to understand procedures, clarify objectives, resolve access/performance issues, and provide technical assistance.
• Support databases, client-server, UNIX/Linux, Microsoft, cloud, virtualization, firewalls, encryption, and thin-client environments.
• Execute tests, support vulnerability scanning, remediate findings, and maintain configuration baselines and records.
• Review logs and support patches, antivirus, firmware, licensing, backups, accounts, incident restoration, and technical documentation.

Overview

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Network Administrator / Engineer to support the DOE EHSS Application, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity Support (AICS) program

AICS enables secure, reliable, and data-driven operations across the DOE enterprise through application modernization, DevSecOps, Zero Trust implementation, continuous monitoring, and infrastructure sustainment supporting EHSS’s environment, health, safety, security, and classification missions.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, monitor, maintain, patch, upgrade, and secure classified network devices, servers, systems, applications, terminals, and peripherals.
• Review, analyze, and modify programming and operational systems, including coding, testing, debugging, installation, and issue correction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar field. 6 years of experience can be substituted for the bachelor’s degree (included as part of the experience requirement, not additional).
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Q clearance
• Minimum 2 years reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging, and installation.
• Experience consulting users to identify operating procedures and objectives.
• Ability to write development, logic, coding, correction, installation, and operating documentation.
• Familiarity with relational databases, client-server, UNIX/Linux, Microsoft, and cloud; classified networks and TACLANE/COMSEC desired.
• CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or AWS Advanced Networking preferred.
